For my first skate park, I will be commenting on the Westminster skate park. Located in the Westminster rec center complex at 104th and Sheridan, this is a good all around skate park. It offers a variety of challenges for all levels of skaters. There are wedges, platforms, rails, stairs and a bowl. There is plenty of parking. The softball fields and soccer fields are close by, as is the Westminster Rec Center. The drawbacks are that there is no lighting for after dark and it is at the top of a hill with no trees to block the wind. The drain on the bowl is not exactly at the lowest point so there may be some water that hasn't drained completely. Overall, I would rate it a B.
Sweet man, Ill have to check that park out. Can you also report about the volume of skaters there? Are the locals friendly? Iv been to many parks and felt ostracized for not being a regular.

ReplyDeleteI like your idea of a rating system. I think it would be cool to let us know what the criteria are for your ratings. What constitutes an A park? I think you have a cool idea here and I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. My brother and I use to go to a skate park in boulder. I don't know if it is still there but we always had so much fun. This is so creative because everyone always wants to hear what places have the best ramps. I am excited to read more about your skating adventures.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea, helpful, informative and visually nice. I like that you are rating the parks. Perhaps you could compile a "Best-of-the-Best" list after you have reviewed a nice assortment of parks. Are any of the parks better for younger/older skaters? Also, maybe "rate" the neighborhoods the parks are located in? Great start!
